Instructors

Alex is giving me a great class. We do not just study same chapter and same thing all day but he divides it up in grammar, reading and conversation. He helps me review every grammar points so I can organize what I learned. To teach me new vocabulaties, he draws and uses gestures to explain. His lesson plan is very organized. I liked that way he guides me when we go out. The reason I want to change my instructor is that I want to take classes from other instructors and if it is possible, I would like to take my class from a female instructor.

Romelia's writing is very neat and easy to read. It makes it so easy on me when I review my notes. After her explanation, she always made me make a sentence to check for my understanding. Her explanation and activities were well balanced and it was interactive. She also took me to her home town, Totonicapan. I am so grateful for her coming all the way to the school to pick me up and we had lots of fun there!

Host family

I amd living very comfortably with my host family. They always greet me with a big smile and listened to me when we eat. They really encourages me to learn Spanish and they are being my moral support. The meals are wonderful. I have my limitation on what I can eat but they are very conscious about it and I amd very satisfied. They are great in their hospitality. The grandfather shows me around the city and we went to watch "Miss Independence Day" too. Ximena remembers a food that came up on our conversation and made me the exact one the next day. I love showing my activities of the day with my digital camera and we had such a wonderful time talking about it during dinner. So cultural activities and digital pictures worked out great for me.

Volunteering

This is just my 3rd day there but the girls and sisters were so sweet! It is still hard to communicate well with the girls... I guess they are taking really good care of me. I help them out in making lunch and we went out for an amusement park too. Their warm greetings and hugs make it worth the experience! Noriko T, Japan
