Because I can share more about our Mayan culture.

What are the challenges of being a mam and weaving instructor?
Giving our knowledge to the foreigners and teaching the student so that he/she could learn well.

How do you make your class interesting?
Motivating them and teaching them to speak in mam and telling the meaning of each word.

What do you do to grow as a professional and person?
Promote more about knowledge of weaving and mam language.

What would you do if you have only one more week of life?
Have a good time and I will let myself be guided by the hands of God.

What were you doing 15 years ago?
I was teaching to weave in Petén.

What will you be doing in 15 years down the road?
My vision is to get ahead in my life by teaching mam and weaving so that I can support my family economically like I used to do.

Who is/was the most influential person in your life?
My husband, because sometimes he tells me not to go work with the women's group because I'm not making any money from it.

What is the Guatemala's biggest social issue?
Discrimination of the indigenous people, corruption, lack of employment and illiteracy.

What do you propose to solve the Guatemala's problems?
Give more participation to the indigenous people in the social activities. Have the government pay more attention to the indigenous people's educational, health and employment issues.
