Mission:
Present programs to teach and to learn. Offer both theoretical and practical approaches in our work and make programs that are highly relevant to our audiences' daily lives.
Objectives:
Transmit cultural programs offering an alternative communication in response to the needs of audiences. Be a public channel of participation for them.
Educational programs: For general audiences in various areas.
Cultural programs: Values, traditions and Mayan cosmovision are emphasized with reportages and interviews.
Human relations programas: the Peace Accord, ecology, human rights, women's rights, children and reality in Guatemala are covered.
Alternative programs: Humor, exchange of ideas, etc.
Overview
Guatemala is a country with many cultures and languages but with little educational opportunities in formal and informal settings. There are 23 commonly languages other than Spanish. Each ethnic group has its own culture, wardrobe and traditions. Although number of the media of communication has grown, majority of them are just entertaining their audiences however. They are not educating their audiences what is really taking place in the country and they are transmitting their information in Spanish only.
The radios run musics only. There is no richness of exchange of ideas nor educational contents on personal hygiene, nutrition, civility, culture, etc.
We intend to be the alternative to those broadcasting channels. We will be the broadcasters with creativity and necessary technology to conquer the new field of communication to educate and to inform.
Description of the organization
We work with some media of communication making reportages. We also help those who want to transmit educational and informative messages to their audiences but who lack supports from other broadcasters or do not have enough economic resources.
What do you have to do?
We have access to our radio program. You can help us in the production of commercials, programs and in announcing it. We also have a television program. You can be our reporter, interviewer or commentator.
Long-term objective:
Produce series of documentaries to report about social reality of our country with our cultural information and problems in the country.
We will be waiting for you. You will not be just another volunteer. You will be a part of our great team!
