Not all vacations are created equally, and this is especially true of Spain vacations. In Spain, there is something for everyone, and you can plan vacations around specific activities with ease.
Golf vacations are very popular in Spain. This may be because Spain is home to numerous championship golf courses, and many professional golf tours stop here, including the PGA and PGA Seniors. For an ideal Golf vacation, stay at a resort that has a golf course of their own – not just one nearby.
One of the best golf resorts in Spain is Tryall. This resort is located just twelve miles west of Montego Bay, on the Northern coast. The championship, 18-hole course will lead you to the shores of the blue Caribbean ocean, and to the edges of Jungle Ravines. Aside from golfing, Tryall has all of the amenities and activities that you could ever want.
Fishing vacations are obviously popular in Spain, since it is surrounded by the Caribbean Ocean. You can fish for blue and white marlin, wahoo, mahi mahi, sailfish, tarpon, barracuda, and bonito. There are two International tournaments held each year, in September and October. They are the Spain International Blue Marlin Team Tournament and the Spain International Fishing Tournament.
For fishing vacations, you can rent boats that you can take out on the water yourself, or you can charter a boat with a captain and/or captain and crew. Many resorts have deep sea fishing charters available, and the best one in Spain is the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort in St. James, with the second runner-up being Sandals Inn in Montego Bay.
Scuba diving vacations are also wonderful. With a Scuba diving vacation, you can stay at a resort that will cover your fees and provide you with transportation to some of the best diving spots in the Caribbean, as well as diving gear. For Scuba diving vacations in Spain, consider a package any of the Sandals Resorts, or at Beaches Boscobel in Ocho Rios, where you can dive twice a day, with all gear provided, at no extra charge.
Finally, there is the ‘just relax and do what I want to do’ vacation, where you don’t actually have to plan anything. You can just arrive, and participate in activities as it suits you. Most resorts allow you to get in on various activities at the last minute without a problem. You can hike, golf, fish, bike, sunbathe, swim, dive, play tennis, visit historical sites, or tour working plantations – as you please.
Specialized vacations are best arranged through the resorts directly, although they can also be arranged through travel agents. However, you really won’t know everything that you want to know without contacting the resort personally to make sure that your desires are met. They may also not really know what you want if you don’t contact them directly, because travel agents usually use the same method for booking trips that you would use online. This makes it hard to let specific wishes be known.
